Time:
Tuesday 28 June 14:30 to 15:30

April Russell, leading interior designer, will be joined by English art dealer and art historian Philip Mould OBE, and guest speakers Andrew Molyneux and Harry Triggs from TM Lighting, for this talk on ‘The Art of Interiors: Collaborating harmoniously to achieve timeless interiors’.

TM Lighting specialise in designing and manufacturing exceptional LED products, which transform works of art within private residences, stately homes, galleries and museums.

The four specialists will talk about how they combine their talents to create stunning interiors, which have flair, personality and are timeless and effortless.

April and Philip will discuss how to collaborate and enhance a curated art collection within a bespoke interior, whilst ensuring the art stands out and isn’t overtaken by interior design.

All interiors require artificial light to bring warmth and drama. TM Lighting will advise on different lighting techniques and LED quality, which are suitable to light fine art and sculpture. They also discuss the challenges of lighting art within listed interiors and the light sources that are best for different styles and periods of art.

Each expert will clarify common myths and theories, which often arise in their different fields. They will touch upon framing and positioning art, how to mix multi-level artificial light and the damaging effects of natural light on the entire interior. Finally, whilst considering the design of an interior, they will discuss the perennial subject of ‘Less is More?’
